“I know its crazy but you never turn away” Inspectah Deck-Crazy – The Manifesto

Locations: the streets , slumps, red light districts, refugee camps and clubs  of Surabaya, Indonesia,  Bali, Indonesia, Bangkok, Thailand, London, U.K, Beirut , Lebanon and Amman , Jordan.

Equipment :Leica X1, Leica D-Lux 4 ,Olympus E-P1, I-POD full of Wu tang ,madlib, jay dilla, jay electronica, nas, big pun,Rakim, Kool G Rap , the roots, immortal technique , mos def  and arab hip hop bangers.

A special thanks goes out to my man Laith Majali, for all the time, advice and inspiration, for introducing me to Leicas , the work of Capa, Chris Weeks, Cartier-Bresson , Mochilla and countless others, and of course for editing my work.

To my brother Naim  and my sister Elham or all the encouragement  and pushing me with their amazing work.

I am also very grateful to the Leica London store staff for giving me the opportunity to be one of the first 300 people to own the brand new Leica X1, this blog entry is not only meant to highlight my work , but also give readers a sneak preview of what exactly this beautiful machine is capable of.

I picked up photography around 4 months ago in and as I was preparing this blog entry, I realized that I picked up photography around the same time the economic crisis began to manifest its implications on a global scale, now I dont know if this is an attempt by an amateur photographer to give some significance to his work , or if what I captured on camera during that time is related to the crisis, what I do know however, is that these are the moments  that decided to unfold during those 4 months.

    wow!
    i am seriously impressed.
wonderful job Nasser the photos speak volumes. I loved the jump in sequence from sepia/ black and white to colors, and i loved your choice of locations and people to photograph. I can see those places. I loved how they all shared the same semi-surprised semi-disgusted look at being photographed, ( the ones that were aware of it that is) it’s natural…one thing for sure, i should def. be considering the Leica! bravo man, fantastic shots

Camil :my man, thanks to you we got some mad traffic to the blog today.

Dima: thanks , I should point out that with the exception of the guy in Bangkok with the sunglasses, no one seemed to care.

Mohd: thanks man, I went to your site and there is some great stuff on there , I am hardly the expert on this but this is my humble opinion
Joanna: which one? the one on the beach or the black and white one?

Rewam: I’ll take that as a compliment , hehe, seriously though , having laith as a friend and a partner in the company, its sort of sets the bar really high.
